Maui is known as one of the most beautiful islands in Hawaii, and for good reason! Lush forests, teal waters, white sand beaches, beautiful sunsets all await you at this amazing location. It can be overwhelming trying to plan a perfect vacation in such an amazing location where you just want to see everything! Here are some tips for making sure you make the most out of your visit and see the best of the best attractions during your stay:
Relax and Get Acclimated
After the long flight, you’re going to be a bit jet lagged. It’s very tempting to immediately jump into a fun activity when there’s so much to do. However, on your first day, the best thing you can do is just relax and take it all in. Go to the beach and sit in the sun or just relax next to the pool at your hotel. There’s going to be lots to do in the days to come so you want to make sure you’re well rested for the rest of your trip so that you can enjoy it as much as possible.
Go Snorkeling
The beaches, the water, and what’s beneath them are one of the biggest attractions in Maui. You’d be missing out if you didn’t take the time to explore the world beneath the waves. It’s an entirely different planet down there, and one that is unique to this island that you won’t find anywhere else. Make sure to experience it while you’re here.
Hike a Volcano
Hawaii is known for having dormant volcanoes all over the islands. This is one of the few times when you can get up close and personal with a volcano without having any negative consequences. Mt. Haleakala is the volcano on Maui and it has some amazing views. From the top you can see a little bit of everything on the island – rainforests, the ocean and deserts. The volcano itself is a unique experience as it feels like you’re adventuring into an alien planet.
Hire a Photographer
There’s so much beauty and things to see during your trip, you don’t want to have to worry about capturing it all with photos too. There are lots of Maui photographers that you can hire for a few hours to snap some great shots of you on a beautiful beach or in an amazing location. Years from now when you’re telling your family about your Maui vacation, you want to be able to show them the beautiful of the place and all of the things you got to experience, and this is best done by having some photos to accompany your memories.
See a Luau
No trip to Hawaii would be complete without a luau – a traditional ceremony of the natives. It’s a fun way to experience a new culture and to try some Hawaiian specialties including a pig roast, knife fighting, and fire dancing. You don’t have to take part in the activities if you don’t want to, but it’s great to sit back and watch!
